What Are Custom Thumb Cut Boxes?

A thumb-cut box is die-cut packaging with a semicircular or oval notch in the lid, front panel, or side wall. The notch lets a customer press a thumb against the cutout and open the box in one motion.

Because the notch is cut in the same die-cutting pass as the rest of the box, there’s no secondary operation and no added per-unit cost. The box opens more easily than a standard tuck-end or sleeve design while printing and presenting identically on the outside.
